President now quick to respond to slightest weather

After the harsh criticism it received for its response to Hurricane Katrina, the White House is now quickly responding to even the slightest weather.

“I want you to know you can count on your government to help in this time of need,” President Bush told a crowd of a couple dozen Brandon, SD residents whose homes were damaged in a hail storm this week. Bush also pledged $1,250 to the storm-ravaged community.

The Bush Administration’s handling of Hurricane Katrina has been under fire for it’s slow response to Hurricane Katrina. This week President Bush for the first time took responsibility for the mistakes made and promised more effective response in the future.

Bush made numerous stops this week at disaster sites including Parkdale, OR where a thunderstorm downed a power line and left a city block without power for hours, and Harlan, KY where 40 mph winds wreaked havoc on dozens of backyards and patios.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Vice President Dick Cheney Thursday visited Karen Moohg whose rose garden behind her Waterford, MI home was destroyed by heavy rains.
