Hey, don't forget your kid

Toddler dies after 5 hours in car

How could a person ever forget that there is a baby in his or her car?

Kids irritate me so much that I am aware when one is within a 100 feet. There is no way I could ignore one in my backseat.

That, and other people are so paranoid that I get berated by strangers when I run into 7-11 to buy bottled water for the kids and I leave them in the back seat for the two minutes it takes to consummate the transaction.

I have a staunch position on this, even though I can understand compelling variations. My position is that it is against the law to abandon your child. For 2 minutes or five hours. It is a law so that you don't have to think about variations. Accidents are not reasonable. The Unknown is to be respectfully feared. So many things could happen that one can't imagine including kidnapping. I suppose those who do leave their kids in their cars, take their keys and lock the doors so the car won't be stolen.

I agree, spankmewithaspoon. It is crazy to value your car more than your child, unless of course your car is a BMW or Benz and your kid is a brat.

i won't leave my children even long enough to pay for gas. it's NOT worth it.

"it's easier to just leave him in the car seat when he's sleeping?"

for craps sake. how bad do you need that ridiculous frapaccino? just think, when your baby is kidnapped, you won't be able to offer much of a reward because all your money went to starbucks.

people make me sick.
