Existing single-family home sales drop
Why are home sales always referred to as "single-family" home sales? Is there a whole market out there of multiple families getting together to chip in on a house?

It is single family homes instead of multi-family (i.e. apartments or condos). Sometimes they even say single family detached housing which means a house instead of a townhouse. and yes I am a dork.
