The movie: Major League.
The situation: Tie game. Bottom of the ninth. Two outs. A runner on second. Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger) at bat, gives a sign to the manager who responds, "That's a hell of an idea" and conveys the play to the third base coach.
The play is for Taylor to point to the stands, calling his shot - a homerun, just as Babe Ruth supposedly once did. However, Taylor is bluffing to catch the infield off-guard, because he actually plans to bunt.
I don't claim to know that much about baseball but am I really supposed to believe that a Major League Baseball team has a sign for "call a fake homerun by pointing to the bleachers but actually lay down a bunt to third?" C'mon!
