Good God, next thing you know, PETA will get the NCAA to ban animal names, thus eliminating my own LSU Fighting Tigers.
I don't completely understand why people are offended by teams named after Native Americans. After all, teams are named after ADMIRABLE or interesting people/groups/animals, etc.
The one exception, off the top of my head, is the Redskins. I think that name actually is offensive.
